    The Ministry of Health has established the following goals in order to achieve its mission:

  • To protect the health of the population through the legislation of health promotion and protection programs
  • To improve access to health services, ensure equity in health services availability and utilization and protect the health of the more vulnerable groups.
  • To eradicate and control the communicable and non-communicable diseases prevalent in the country
  • To inform and educate the people in order to promote the adoption of healthy life-styles and food habits
  • To cooperate and coordinate with other ministries to monitor and evaluate the environment on a continuous basis
  • To seek greater and effective participation of people and communities in planning, implementation and evaluation of health care
  • To upgrade health facilities including hospitals, primary health care centers, laboratories and all other health institutions at all levels, and link these through efficient referral.
  • To ensure adequate and reliable supply of safe and cost-effective drugs of acceptable quality, and promote its rational use
  • To improve the quality of health care programs
  • To improve the cost-effectiveness of all health care services
  • To improve the managerial process and strengthen health system management
